PolySpot Enterprise Search

A single point of access to all information

PolySpot Enterprise Search is a search and browsing solution that offers users a full overview of information from multiple sources, stored both within and outside the company.

With its new, information-based view concept, PolySpot Enterprise Search offers a single, quick and effective point of access to documents. It uses a cross-functional infrastructure, helping users to get the most out of their information resources and facilitating knowledge-sharing.

Information-based views: a powerful search function tailored to specific needs

PolySpot Enterprise Search includes an innovative new concept: information-based views. These enable users to search for a specific type of information within each search application. For example, a user in a marketing department will have various views covering different aspects of their activity, such as internal information, business intelligence, image views, contact views, etc. The benefit of this approach is that each user has access to search functions tailored to their specific role and needs, via a single search interface. Each view is contained in a separate, configurable tab.

Rich and intuitive user interfaces

Multiple context-based views (documents, images, directories, news items, videos, etc.) with tailored search functions for each view (relevance, filters, default display)
Multiple display modes (basic list, detailed list, mosaic, grid with sort options, contacts)
A "best practice" template displayed by default: a template is assigned to each document automatically, based on its type and formatAutomatic preview generation

Key benefits

A single point of access and productivity: PolySpot Enterprise Search provides a single point of access to all data, via which users can instantly interact with all available information resources, both within and outside the company, and regardless of whether the data they contain is structured or not.

Avoid strategic and decision-making risks: Poor distribution of knowledge and information prevents decision-makers from making informed judgements and can have a severe impact on key strategic areas of any business, such as internal and external communication, sales, customer support, marketing, merchandising, business and regulatory intelligence and quality, safety and environment. PolySpot Enterprise Search enables employees to focus on their core activities, with instant access to all the information they need to make a quick, effective decision.

Knowledge transfer and expert identification: PolySpot Enterprise Search helps to quickly identify experts on specific topics, giving the company access to precious knowledge that would otherwise be lost.

Cost-effective access to application content: For a variety of reasons, there are many specialist applications that cannot be accessed by all potential users. These include license cost issues, obsolete systems, migration costs and applications that are excessively technical or difficult to use.
By using a search engine, the data locked inside these closed applications can now be shared and distributed with ease, providing a cost-effective way to capitalise on existing applications.
